What is NCR?

The abbreviation NCR stands for "No Carbon Required"; it refers to paper that's been treated with a specialised coating, which then reacts to the pressure of a pen.

Each sheet of paper is then fixed together with glue, and so what is written on the first sheet is then automatically copied onto the resultant sheets, all without needing to use carbon paper, which in comparison is much more messy.

NCR sets are the most simple and least-expensive type of NCR. Whether you have a 2, 3, 4 or more part NCR form, all of the parts are joined together with glue to make a single complete set.

They are then boxed and stored loose. Being loose NCR sets, they are perfect for office use where you can take the next NCR set from where they are stored.

Once completed, the individual paper parts can be seperated to pass on.

NCR pads are multiple NCR sets all fixed together into one single pad. Usually there are 50 sets to a pad, they are supplied with a writing shield that's placed underneath the current set. You can fill out your form and can then tear off the resultant sheets for distribution. You can then reinsert the writing shield under the next set within the pad.

NCR pads are useful if you wish to keep your NCR sets neatly together, which can be a great assistance when you are out visiting clients.

NCR books are similar to NCR pads in the fact that all your NCR sets are kept neatly together. The main difference is that with an NCR book, a part of the set is fastened to the book.

The NCR sets are stapled into the book, along with a plain cover and board backing. It is then bound with black tape to finish. Dependant on your needs, some of the parts are perforated so they can be simply removed from the book and handed out to wherever, but the final part is left fastened into the book.

NCR books are ideal for ensuring you have your file copies kept together, so that nothing can go missing.

" I sent my order of service for my wedding Mass to Hurricane Print for printing. I was so impressed with the level of service and attention to detail. Eddie made a point of phoning me to ensure the layout was accurate making sure the blank pages were in the best places so that in print it would look perfect – and it was. Thank you so much! It was a pleasure to work with such a professional team of people who treated the job with care and attention - this can often be lost in industry but is definitely in existence at Hurricane Prints. "

" Hurricane Print produced the Order of Service for my father's funeral. This was one of the most difficult things I had to put together in such a small amount of time and I was deeply appreciative of the speed, efficiency and sensitivity of their service. They were very considerate about the logistics of delivery and the need for expedience. The Order of Service booklets produced were of a beautiful quality: there was consistency in the high standards and a professional recognition of what was expected for the occasion. "
